Site Operation

• April 1 - December 1 (subject to change due to weather restrictions)
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday
  • 8am - 3:30pm
• Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
  • 8am - Dusk

Allowable Users

• By utilizing the site,users agree to the terms of this Compost Site Policy.
  • Residents of the City of Silver Lake
  • Non-Residents through permitting system (No Commercial)

Acceptable Material

• Materials must be separated and placed in designated areas. Load sizes must not exceed 12 yards.
  • Yard Waste
    • Grass Clippings
    • Leaves
    • Pinecones
    • Garden Vegetation
  • Brush
    • Shrubs
    • Twigs
    • Sticks
    • Tree branches up to six (6) inches in diameter and less than four (4) feet in length

Unacceptable Material

• This is not a comprehensive list, but rather indicates the types of material not allowed.
  • Construction Wood
  • Lumber
  • Pallets
  • Stumps or Whole Trees
  • Garbage including but not limited to plastic, rocks, metal, concrete, animal feces, food scraps

Violations

• Any violation of this policy and/or illegal dumpimg may be prosecuted as a petty misdemeanor under MM Statute 609.68.
