2026 SPRING CLEAN UP

Begins: 3/23/2026 - 4:00 pm
Ends: 5/16/2026 - 6:00 pm

The City of Silver Lake in conjunction with Waste Management will be offering a Spring Clean Up on Saturday, May 16th from 8am - Noon at the McLeod County (Public Works) Shed on East Main Street.

Items that will be accepted will include trash bags, old furniture, construction materials, etx. A nominal fee will be charged for disposal. For a complete list of things that will be accepted and the charge for disposal, a list can be picked up in City Hall or printed from the link below.

No electronics or appliances will be accepted.

2026 Spring Clean Up Price List

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Begins: 3/24/2026 - 1:30 pm
Ends: 4/14/2026 - 8:00 pm

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 7:00pm in the Silver Lake Auditorium.

The purpose of said hearing will be to consider variance requests:

1. To allow for a home occupation sign larger than allowed by city ordinance in a residential district.
2. Allow for a home occupation sign to be placed just outside of the city right-of-way rather than on the building.

The application is for the property located at 1104 Main St W.

HYDRANT FLUSHING

Begins: 3/26/2026 - 9:00 AM
Ends: 4/3/2026 - 6:00 PM

Hydrant flushing is scheduled for the week of March 30 - April 3.

Once the hydrant has been flushed in your area, run your water to clear your lines.
To help prevent the flushed water from entering your home/business, flush your lines using your outside faucet.
