Building Permits & Inspections
The City of Silver Lake has adopted the Minnesota State Building Code to govern any applicable construction activities in the city. In addition to the Building Code, the City has also adopted Zoning regulations to govern land use issues within Silver Lake.
Building Permits are required for nearly all construction activities and can be obtained at City Hall or by using the link in the Related Documents below. Permits and Inspections for the City of Silver Lake are handled by SafeBuilt, and they will strive to assist you with your construction project in an efficient and accountable manner. They are responsible for permitting all construction and conducting inspections of all construction-related permits as well as issuance of Certificates of Occupancy.
SafeBuilt is responsible for:
- Conducting building construction inspections
- Issuing building permits
- Issuing certificate of occupancy permits
- Reviewing building plans
- Working directly with the Planning and Zoning Commission
